How does Norethisterone postpone periods and when should I start taking it?

Norethisterone is a synthetic progesterone hormone that keeps your hormone levels high, preventing the womb lining from shedding. You should start taking one 5mg tablet three times daily, beginning 3 days before your expected period. Your period will arrive roughly 2 to 3 days after stopping the tablets. It can be used to delay your cycle for up to 14 to 17 days.

Can Norethisterone be used as contraception?

No. Norethisterone is strictly for period delay and is not a contraceptive. You will still need to use barrier contraception (such as condoms) while taking it to prevent pregnancy.

How does Naproxen help with severe period pain (dysmenorrhoea)?

Menstrual cramps are triggered by hormone-like lipids called prostaglandins that cause uterine muscle contractions. Naproxen is a potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis, dramatically easing abdominal pain and excessive bleeding.

What is Vaniqa cream and how does it work for facial hair?

Vaniqa contains eflornithine 11.5%, which works by inhibiting an enzyme in hair follicles responsible for hair production. It slows the growth of unwanted facial hair in women, making hair finer and reducing the frequency of waxing, plucking, or shaving. Visible improvements are usually noticed within 8 weeks.

Can you treat urinary tract infections (cystitis) here?
